Mac this! Pc that!
Do you ever get sick and tired of people arguing with each other on whether or not the PC or the Mac is better? I can’t remember how many hours of my life have been so pathetically wasted on taking part in this type of useless activity. Someone might say, “Well you have to admit that a PC is better” or visa versa.
The bottom line is computers can be directly related to shoes. Right now I have on a pair of Blackhawk dress shoes. The sole is almost worn out of them and there is a big chunk of plastic poking me in the heel. Before these shoes I had a pair of Bass Hurricanes (brown dress shoes) “God rest their souls” that I would not have taken a thousand bucks for. Unfortunately these shoes met their demise in a game of basketball in which my foot exploded out the side of them. This was a few months ago (I’m 21 and I bought the shoes in 8th grade).
As you can see, it did not matter how many time my loving and beautiful wife told me that my shoes were ugly or that they were worn out, I still loved my shoes. So let’s relate this to computers! When I first got my Bass Hurricanes, I hated them with a passion. They were the most uncomfortable shoe that I had ever put on my feet. I never wore anything but tennis shoes up until this point of my life and moving to dress shoes was like a PC lover moving to a Mac (or visa versa)! Ahhhhhhhhh. Ok, so we are getting somewhere. Unfortunately I made the mistake of buying the shoes and I was to poor to reconsider. So I stuck with shoes and they slowly began to mold themselves to my feet and I slowly developed a loving relationship with these shoes.
This is the same relationship that a PC lover can begin to have with a Mac if they make the mistake of buying one and they are forced to carry out their normal technical duties with it. Bottom line, nobody talks about my shoes and nobody can talk about the 233Mz P3 with 1.2GB hard drive that I put to rest last year. It wasn’t the fact that it was a PC that made it so appealing to me, it was the fact that it had molded to me. That computer and I had developed a relationship. I was not to expect it to run anything like the big boys and it would do its best to stay alive.
I will admit that I love Windows. I will patch my computer day in and day out to continue using it. Unfortunately, I think I could develop the same relationship with a Mac if I ever screwed up and bought one and was forced to live with it. Also, how many people do you see walking up to someone and saying, man your shoes suck. And then they go on a 30 minute rampage explaining why one person’s shoes suck and their shoes are better. You never see people getting on a forum arguing about their dang shoes. So get over it and realize that a person can have an opinion about computers just like anything else. And opinions are like ————– (you no this line). I wrote all this to say one thing, “I’m taking my Bass Hurricanes to the shoe repair man.”
