Change the Message Shown on the Windows Logon (Authentication) Prompt
To change the text located on the Windows Login (Authentication) username and password prompt, you must add or modify the following values. This allows you to display a customized message. The default message is “Enter a user name and password that is valid for this system.”:
Location of System Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
Value(s) to Modify: LogonPrompt
Correct Data Type: REG_SZ (String Value)
After you have added the LogonPrompt REG_SZ value, click on it to enter your desired text.
