I have removed my RSS Feeds section of this site and replaced it with an “about” page. I realized that I never looked at the feeds and thus they were pointless. After looking at a few other blogs I realized that I was the only one without an “about” page and I couldn’t let that happen.

To be honest, I have always been paranoid about putting to much personal information on my site. I guess thats the “Security Mind” coming out in me. However, I do realize there are plenty of other people who have their entire life story and personal information on their site. I’m guessing they would be a more likely target for the ole “I have nothing better to do than steal people’s identity” guy.

People just don’t understand how easy it is to get personal information. Bofe and I were doing a seminar on Identity Theft once and one of our co-workers volunteered to let us try to steal his identity. Keep in mind that we acted as if we did not know him. We were able to find the following information using a phone and the internet:

Girl Friend’s Name
Parents and Siblings Name
His Birthday
His Cell and Dorm Room Number
What dorm he lived in
How old he was
Where he was employed
A Photo Id of Him

The list goes on and on. We probably could have got his SSN, but we didn’t try for legality reasons. So the question is why would anybody have an “about” page? There comes a time while trying to maintain your Internet Reputation when you just have to be more than a screen name. So I’m putting my parnoia behind me and the “about” page has been added. Enjoy! Its really not that great.
